Pinkpop

Pinkpop

For the development of the folder and app for Pinkpop, I started with thorough research. A good design begins with a clear understanding of the brand and its target audience. My analysis showed that the brand value ‘bold’ best fits Pinkpop’s identity. I then used this core value as a guideline for the entire design, both visually and functionally. Everything had to convey: this is Pinkpop, and this is different from the rest.

Sketches

I started by gathering visual materials that fit well together, after which I sketched three different flyers to explore which style best matched the brand value ‘bold.’

In the end, I chose the first design because it best aligned with the brand value ‘bold.’ Although I considered all the designs bold and hesitated between the first two for a long time, I ultimately selected the first one because, in my opinion, it conveyed the brand value most strongly.

Figma prototype

After selecting the final design, I began creating a prototype for the app. This was a helpful step because it gave me insight into the app’s structure and functionality. By visually mapping out where each element should go, I was able to think more deliberately about the user experience and how the navigation could be logical and intuitive.

Indentity

The brand identity is of great importance, which is why I carefully considered the core values and visual elements at every step of the design process to ensure everything remains consistent and recognizable.

Folder

I incorporated as many characteristics of ‘bold’ as possible into the design, creating everything myself, from the visuals to the text. For the design, I mainly used InDesign and Illustrator, and for minor adjustments, I used Photoshop. The final design is structured so that it can be easily folded to A6 size.

App

The final app is a compilation of the key elements, although I had originally wanted to include videos and other interactive features. Due to time constraints, I unfortunately had to leave these out, but the design itself still reflects the bold brand identity.
