De Fa2

One of my best friends also studies at the Media College and is enrolled in the Actor program. For an assignment, he had to make his own short film, and he asked me to design a poster for it, so that’s what I did!

Figures

He sent me 10 photos of the people acting in the film. Based on those, I created illustrations that show who they are, but not completely. This gives the poster a mysterious and artistic vibe.

Locker

I started by adding a colored background behind the characters and then placed them on a locker, since the film takes place at school. I made the illustrations about 60% transparent so it looks like they are really stuck on the locker, like stickers that have been there for a while.

Tests

Here, I started experimenting to see what would suit the illustrations best. I added a few background scenes to see how it would come across as a real movie poster. This way, I could test which atmosphere worked best for the story and style.

Final results

For the final result, I chose a large, bold font for the title so it really stands out. The subtitles, on the other hand, are thin and small to enhance the contrast and draw attention to the title. I’m happy with how it turned out!
